			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most times, muscle pain including Back Pain is the result of changes in the length and/or tension in your muscles. This change can cause muscle spasm, weakness, loss of flexibility, and poor circulation to the injured area.</p>
<p>Using a foam roller has multiple beneficial effects and helps the body return to a more efficient, healthy state.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at some of these benefits:</p>
<p>1. Compressing a muscle using a foam roller will help the muscle to relax into its normal resting state.</p>
<p>2. It will help break up knots and scar tissue.</p>
<p>3. It will improve the circulation in the area. Restricted circulation can result in pain, decreased strength and poor healing of injured tissue.</p>
<p>Using a foam roller prior to stretching will allow your muscles to stretch better. So whether your goal is to decrease pain, or to improve flexibility or strength, using a foam roller will help you reach it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As if lower back pain wasn&#8217;t hard enough to get rid of, did you know that where you feel your pain probably isn&#8217;t where the problem is or the source of where your pain is? All muscles in the human body have the ability to refer pain. This means that when a muscle is injured, tight, in spasm or congested it will often cause pain far from where the problem is. And the muscles in the lower back are no different.</p>
<p>Examples of tricky or confusing back pain you may have experienced are:</p>
<p>1. Lower back pain/ stiffness across the waistline after sitting or bending.  Common cause: muscles in the front of the hips (yes, not the back!).</p>
<p>2. Pain radiating down the outside or back of your leg when you stand. Common cause: Piriformis (a deep butt muscle).</p>
<p>Now this is a very small and partial list but represents an important example of the fact that where you &#8220;feel&#8221; the pain may not be where the problem is.</p>
